Privacy policy

This site belongs to Adrial Designs, Inc., a one person design practice in Durham, North Carolina. I collect as little as I can, I don't sell anything about you, and everything below describes what this site actually does rather than what a generic policy says.

What I collect, and when

When you message me. The message form asks for your name, your email address and what you need. It's emailed straight to me, and nothing from it is kept in a database. The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person rather than a script is sending it, so Cloudflare receives technical signals about the submission.

When you book a call. The booking flow saves your name and email first, so if you stop partway I can still follow up. Then it asks what kind of work you're after, a budget range, a short description of the project and a phone number if you want to give one. That goes into my database along with the page you started from, which audience you picked (business or research program) and your browser's user agent string, and it's emailed to me. The call itself is scheduled through cal.com, which has its own privacy terms. Turnstile protects this form too.

When you send or receive files. The file transfer tool stores the files, a title and message if you add one, and the sender name and email entered with the transfer. Files you send me are deleted automatically after 30 days. Files I send you expire on the schedule I pick when I create the transfer, normally 7, 30 or 90 days, and I may email you a reminder before they do. Uploads are protected by Turnstile as well. The tool checks file types but doesn't scan for malware, so treat a download the way you'd treat any email attachment.

When you simply read the site. Google Analytics records anonymous usage: which pages were viewed, roughly where in the world you are, what kind of device you used and how you arrived. It sets cookies to do that. I use it to see which pages are worth improving, and I never try to identify individual visitors. Your browser also remembers a few things locally so the site works the way you left it: which audience you picked, a booking form you haven't finished and your work in the Tiffin CMS demo. That stays in your browser. The Woodlake Pride event pages embed Google Maps and load fonts from Google, so Google sees your request when you open those pages.

What I do with it

I use what you send to answer you and, if we work together, to run the project. I don't sell your information, rent it or hand it to anyone for advertising.

Who else touches it

Running a website means a few companies process small pieces of this on my behalf. Vercel hosts the site and stores transferred files, Neon hosts the database behind the booking flow and the transfer tool, Resend delivers the email the forms generate, Cloudflare provides Turnstile, Google provides Analytics, Sentry collects a report when something on the site breaks, and cal.com handles scheduling. Each of them sees only the part it needs, and each has its own privacy terms.

How long I keep it

Transferred files are deleted on the expiry above, automatically. Occasionally I set a link not to expire, usually because a client needs it to keep working. Those files stay until I delete them, and you can ask me to at any time. Analytics data follows Google's own retention settings. Booking details and messages stay with the rest of a project's history as ordinary business correspondence until you ask me to delete them.

Your choices

Message me and I'll tell you what I hold about you, correct it or delete it. You can also block cookies or clear your browser's site data for adrialdesigns.com, which stops the analytics and removes the local preferences above without affecting how the site works.

Children

This site is for people hiring a designer, so it isn't intended for children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect anything about them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. A material change gets a note on this page rather than an unannounced edit.
